Our Staff
Our Staff
We recognise the link between enthusiastic staff and high quality childcare. Therefore when choosing staff we look not only at qualifications and experience, but also for that extra passion and commitment to working with young children. As a result of this, our staff are well trained, motivated and passionate about providing the best environment for your child.
Safe Recruitment
We are firmly committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all children. Therefore, we have procedures in place to prevent those unsuitable to work with children from doing so. We want the best for our children and that means the very best people that we can find to nurture and protect them. Therefore every member of staff, from trainees to our handyman, has an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
Continued Professional Development
We promote ongoing staff development amongst all our staff and therefore have specialised in-house training courses, of which all staff are required to attend at least four per year. As a result of ongoing training all qualified staff have a working knowledge of first aid, food hygiene and child protection. Each nursery also has specialist staff members who have attended additional training in areas such as Special Educational Needs, Advanced Child Protection and Health and Safety.
Staff Ratios
Our minimum staffing levels are 1 member to 3 children for 0 - 2 year olds and 1 member to 6 children for 2 - 5 year olds. We also have several trainees who are currently working with us and attending college each month. Trainees are always supervised and never left alone with the children.
Staff Retention
We pride ourselves on having long serving members of staff and value the contribution they make to the children in their care. Therefore, in order to retain staff, we regularly review staff salaries to ensure that they are competitive. We also offer additional benefits, such as team building days and a staff Christmas party.

Nutrition
At Countryside Nurseries we have long recognised the importance of providing a healthy and balanced diet in the early stages of a child's development.
