We know how important parents and families are to the wellbeing of each child and therefore we aim to ensure that you are involved in your child’s experiences and development.
We operate an ‘open door’ policy – you are welcome to phone or visit any time.
We use an app called ‘Famly’ which allows our nursery staff to share photos, videos and instant messages with you as well as allowing you to share information with nursery via your Android smartphone or iPhone.
The news feed looks similar to Facebook. Parents can message, post and can ‘like’ items that nursery staff post and even add emoticons.
All information is visible in real time which means that parents can see important events as they happen.
We are also able to share our observations of children’s wellbeing, learning and development and link it to the early years foundation stage so that you can see and understand the progress your child is making.
You can contribute to their child’s learning and development record by posting photographs and accounts of what children do outside of nursery. Staff can add the links to the EYFS to your posts enabling real collaboration to support children’s learning and development. You can also use the system to notify us of any holidays or sickness, and to update your personal information.
The ‘Famly Nursery Management Software’ also helps us to run our nurseries more smoothly, giving us more time to spend with the children.
All data stored on Famly is protected securely and compliance with data protection regulations including the new General Data Protection Regulation effective from May 2018 is ensured.
We also invite you to attend regular parents’ evenings where we can discuss with you what your child enjoys and is interested in, what they are learning, how they are developing, and the progress that they are making. We can share ideas about how you can continue to support your child’s learning at home.
We also organise special and social events for children and parents including Christmas concerts and summer fun days.
